Why EHR?
Electronic Health Records (EHR) are mandated by the Federal Government to be implemented by 2015 for all hospitals and medical providers. EHR implementation across the US will result in:
- Improved quality and efficiency of health care for everyone
- Increased engagement of patients and their families in their own health care
- Quick and accurate access to health care information to those who need to make medical decisions
Syringa and EHR Implementation
It is exciting that Syringa Hospital and Clinics is engaged in this process so early in the game. Rather than running to catch the bus leaving the depot, Syringa is ahead of the bus as far as rural CAH hospitals in Idaho go. Our colleagues at North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding, ID, have implemented Cerner, and other organizattions around the state are considering Cerner as their partners in this process. We plan to begin our own “go live” on January 1, 2011.
